Getting to Know Badass Women in Sport at Lewes FC

Having been greatly inspired interviewing Lewes FC Director Karen Dobres for my debut podcast series Everyone Is Interesting, I decided to get in touch with the patriarchy smashing football club (the first in the world to pay the women as much as the men!) and ask if I can tell the amazing stories of the women on the team. So far this project has been incredibly inspiring, as we discuss what the secrets are to making confidence, what equality can look like on and off the pitch, how cheerleader figures can shape a person, whether star signs have anything to do with it, what romance looks like in the football world, using the game as a platform for social justice and how running around with a ball can positively affect the patriarchal systems that govern our society. It doesn’t matter if you like football or not, in podcast Behind Closed Doors at LewesFC, there are profound lessons to learn from these incredible women who show us how to have the balls to follow your dreams…
